Hi, I’m Gavin a midlands-based portrait photographer. I’m self taught and specialise in intimate portraits with musicians and models. Im currently based in Northampton which is roughly 1 hour North of London and work on a freelance basis. I’m available for any kind of portrait or people-related project. My regular work includes Dj / artist portraits, corporate headshot and behind-the-scenes stills.
Photography became a big part of my life just over 10 years ago when I picked my first digital SLR. I’d learnt the basics on an old Pentax film camera that my Grandad had given me but it wasn’t until Digital SLR’s started becoming more affordable that photography really had me hooked.
I started off in 2006 shooting within the Drum and Bass scene, a scene that played a big part in my life from the early 90’s until today. Jungle / Drum and Bass is a lively, vibrant dance scene with dark sweaty clubs to large festivals and arenas. I fast became a well known face within the Drum and Bass world for capturing the raw, uncompromising underground rave scene. This led to me working with most of the biggest DJ’s, MC’s and record labels in DnB and being resident photographer for Ram Records and going on the road capturing unseen moments with the biggest of them all, Andy C.
