Gavin travelled to New York in the middle of the coldest winter it had seen in 50 years. It was Gavin’s first time there working as an art director on a shoot in Brooklyn. Whilst sheltering from the freezing temperatures Gavin chatted to a guy from Hell’s Kitchen who ran a small Pizza Parlour on the corner of 9th Av – W40th St. During this conversation he discovered one of Gavin’s passions; boxing. With a quick phone call entry was secured to Gleason’s Gym and Gavin was on his way to shoot the Golden Gloves Tournament later that evening.
